Turks and Caicos Islands Activities

The Turks & Caicos Islands are very special, a unique destination for those who simply want to “get away from it all” and experience a really “laid back” vacation free from stress and the worries and problems of everyday life. The islands offer that peace and serenity so often missing from our busy lives, somewhere we can simply kick off our shoes, relax and be pampered. But for those with excess energy or inquiring minds there is much to see and do apart from sipping on a favourite cocktail and watching the beautiful sunsets. There are many fun activities and lots to do for everyone!

Golfing

The Provo Golf Club consists of a championship, 18 hole golf course, signature clubhouse featuring Fairways Bar and Grill, stocked Pro Shop, lit tennis courts, fitness center in the works and a lot more!

Miniature Golf

The newest attraction on Providenciales is the 18-hole, putting golf course… a morning or afternoon`s fun for all the family! A shuttle will take you to and from your hotel and the golf course even has a bar restaurant offering cool drinks and some of the best grilled food on the island. The miniature golf course is open seven days a week.

Fishing

There are several charters on the island of Providenciales that will take you out for fishing for the day, including fishing for snapper and grouper…………..and even lobster in season. Then after the fishing enjoy a barbeque of your own "catch of the day" on the beach. Great for the entire family!

Charter Boats

There are several companies that will rent the truly adventuresome their own boat in order to explore at their own pace. You will be given full instruction, maps and life jackets. The tour operators might even provide a cooler and a beach umbrella to take along.

Sailing Excursions

SAIL PROVO offers the ultimate sailing experience. Enjoy sailing and snorkeling excursions on 36`, 48` & 52` catamarans. It has several options; the family cruise, just two hours long while the half day cruise takes in plenty of time for snorkeling as well a stop at Little Water Cay. A four-hour cruise has all this plus a stop at Half Moon Bay for lunch.

Biking

Riding a bicycle can be fun, and we do offer free bikes at Trade Winds. We do caution guests to take extreme care, however, because some of our roads are not paved. New roads and highways are always under construction on the island of Providenciales, so biking can be very pleasurable.

Parasailing

See Providenciales from as high 450 feet, or look out over the string of islands or look down and perhaps see in the crystal clear ocean below JoJo the dolphin, a turtle or two or even a stingray. Parasailing can be fun for all ages, whether a one year old or a ninety year old. As many as three can be hoisted aloft at any one time and even private bookings can be arranged to accommodate only one family.

Caving

Go exploring with Capt. Bill!!!! He and the Ocean Outback will take you an adventure exploring a pirate`s cave with 200-year-old carvings and then take you to deserted beaches for a barbeque. He will even drop the truly adventurous off on a secluded beach to camp overnight.

Other operators will take you over to Middle Caicos to explore the incredible Lucayan Indian caves thought to be over 130,000 years old with over 15 miles of bat filled caverns.

Helmet Diving

This has to be the ultimate underwater experience. This is for all ages from 8 and up. It is extremely safe, and easy, and is fully guided. You do not have to know how to dive or even swim… and you can even wear your own glasses. Walk with your family along the ocean floor, exploring all the wonders it has to offer.

Horseback Riding

There are two riding stables on the island for the tourists to take that thrilling gallop along a white sandy beach. Provo Ponies offers two 45 or 80 minute rides a day with the exception of Sunday. Provo Ponies rides are often on the relatively deserted south shore along Long Beach.

Undersea Explorer

Dive five feet below the waves without having to put on special equipment or even get wet. This is a semi-submarine that leaves Turtle Cove dock twice a day, seven days a week. The "sub" carries 16 passengers regardless of age or physical ability. It is fully air conditioned as it explores the beautiful inner reefs of the island of Providenciales.

Banana Boat

20 minutes or so of screaming, wet fun being towed at speed on a large "banana" along Grace Bay.
